In another thread I showed an electrode grinder that I built from the scrap bin. I did grind a bunch of electrodes (50+), and when I opened it up to replace the front and back panels with clear lexan, I was surprised by the amount of dust inside.I decided to put a sponge between the casing and the horizontal electrode support to make it fully hermetic.I just rue the year I spent at welding school, grinding thoriated electrodes without even a face mask. Reply:Nice work. It's the DUST that's an aspiration hazard.Anyone NOT thinking it is may be gently referred to DU munitions and precautions required around penetrated tanks. You are safer, you saved money, and made a cool machine.
Reply:Now it just needs a radiation symbol sticker lolWelding/Fab Pics: www.UtahWeld.com |
