I posted in my introduction last week that I am taking my first welding class at a community college. it's a continuing ed class so it's pretty laid back; no books, tests, grades, etc. I have been on YouTube watching videos and think there are some awesome (and not-so-good) videos there but as a new guy most of it is over my head. can someone suggest some good, basic BEGINNERS books or DVD's that start at the very beginning?my goal is build some aluminum (fishing) rod holders that will mount on truck tool boxes for myself and friends and hopefully start selling a few down the road.thanks, mick
Reply:Ron Covell has two DVDs out Tig basics and advanced Tig , its put out by miller. I don't know of any other Tig DVDs, if miller backs him there probably decent. hope this helps Steve
Reply:I would ask your instructor what books he recommend. Lincoln has a large selection of literature from beginner to advanced. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
Reply:Jody over at weldingtipsandtricks.com has his stuff on the internet, or in DVD form.I second asking the instructor - a class with no reference material relies on you remembering everything you're told - I am a fan of books to refer to later.Dave J.Beware of false knowledge; it is more dangerous than ignorance. ~George Bernard Shaw~ Syncro 350Invertec v250-sThermal Arc 161 and 300MM210DialarcTried being normal once, didn't take....I think it was a Tuesday.
