Well it's been a super busy year around here. Not been much time to post much. Anyway I know I've shown my large fabrication table top at least one if not two times before. But I'd never gotten around to finishing the table (we just used it on some adjustable stands).   We finally started getting into the backlog of projects recently and I decided to finish the table. Here's how it came out so far.  The first two pics are of the large fab table. I knew from the beginning I wanted it to be height adjustable. We do to many large projects where it needs to be low for it to be fixed (half the time we may have to climb up on the table to finish the project). Anyway I decided to use trailer jacks for the legs. I'm not 100% happy with the result but it's not bad. My main problem with it is that it doesn't go as low as I'd like while going a bit higher than needed. Unfortunately I didn't figure out that I should of cut off about 3-4" of the jacks before I got the trusses built. At this point it would be a major job to shorten them. It may happen one day but not any time soon.  Another change I would do to this table would be to use 3/8" leg angle iron rather than 1/4".   The last three pics are of the newest table. A couple of months back we where in the middle of a rather big build when they called and ordered more than ever and needing them now. Thus we needed a second work area for the larger pieces to increase production.   So we took 3 days off working on projects and built the new table in one of those days. The other two we ripped some of the less used stuff out the shop, leveled the floor with sand, put down some tread plate (didn't have time for concrete) and installed a I-beam for a new hoist over the new table. Those three days saved us about 3 weeks time on the projects.   Anyway as you can see I built this table more along the lines of some of the commercial tables. I had the 3/4" plate which just needed ripped with the track torch. We had a lot of drops of 3" x 3/16" wall sq tubing (but still used a new piece for the long runs). To save time I just used 1" x 1/8" wall tubing for the bolt slots. I had the adjusters (which don't match but oh well). I built this table a little on the short side on purpose to allow some of the taller projects to be built on it. To make it easy to raise up and down I just cut some blocks to put under the legs for normal use. It's 3' wide and can close up to 8' long while still opening up to 10' long easily.   I plan of making some drawers or cabinets to go under this table when I get the chance. Reply:I like the design!Looks lretty sturdy...
Reply:Had one like #2 back in 1990 - 28"x96"x3/4" plate on 2x4x3/16 tubing.  Loved it!   Miss it ...  Great job - one day of work saves 7-10!  THAT's productivity!
Reply:You have been busy. Nice looking tables. On the table with the trailer jacks are the drives chained together or do you raise each one individually?
