How close is too close?

Reply:Try a cheater lens, see if that helps.
Reply:I also use a set of prescription safety glasses. For grinding and whatnot they are the worst... Helps with my depth perception since one eye is weak and one is overly strong. Reply:If you wear glasses, talk to your eye care pro to set you up with glasses that will allow you to see clearly at 12 to 14 inches. Reply:Right now we are on mig/flux so with the 35 solid wire, i'm running 18.5v/250ipm wirespeed. my ad lens (#10) doesn't seem to  be too dark, as i can see about 1/4" infront of the puddle.

Reply:God forbid you should get a few burn marks on your WELDING HOOD!I get a kick out of those guys that TIG about an inch from their lens. I like to go up and push their head back, that really messes them up.
