Reply:Made in china? Hmm guess I more leaning to the Smith unless someone has used the Hobart or knows it a re-badge Smith just like the Hobart ac/dc is a re-badge miller thunderbolt. P.s you vids are always fun to watch
Reply:I use Victor journeyman. I cost a little more but well with the purchase.

Reply:++ Smith! We had a bunch of them where I ran the toolroom and they survive student abuse well. Great tip life.Throw the included goggles in the trash and get a tinted face shield for comfort and facial protection. The Smith regulators are well-regarded and offered with much larger Smith torches. Not all ITW products are created equal.
Reply:I wanted a Smith set back when the Hobart torch kit was indeed a real Smith setup, with Smith part numbers. (Probably the same kit as was posted above.) Then, just as I was going to buy, they switched to a Victor-compatible offshore set. I ended up with a medium Victor torch set. One of these days I'll get some Smith stuff but it's hard switch when you start collecting pieces of a particular brand on Craigslist for cheap. Got a brand-new Victor Journeyman torch head and handle for $40. - stuff like that is hard to pass up."USMCPOP" First-born son: KIA Iraq 1/26/05Syncrowave 250 w/ Coolmate 3Dialarc 250, Idealarc 250SP-175 +Firepower TIG 160S (gave the TA 161 STL to the son)Lincwelder AC180C (1952)Victor & Smith O/A torchesMiller spot welder
