I make up these simple tools to clear spatter out of my nozzle. The material is 1/8 inch welding rod with the flux knocked off. They work for me and are a lot faster than pulling the cup and fiddling around. This and DIP keeps the spatter away. Attached Images
Reply:lotech,What exactly is the business end of that tool, where it goes into the nozzle? It looks to me like you've attached something to it? Or did you just somehow flare out the rod to make a scraper?
Reply:It is forged out cold then hit with a cross peen to give it a radius. If I have a Record vise nearby I put it in the hollow in the casting behind the fixed jaw to form the arc.
Reply:Ok. Thanks, lotech. |
