using anti-spatter on my plasma cutter

Kind of new to this forum, so please forgive if this is a dumb question.I was just cutting up some 1/4 inch aluminum plate and getting spatter sticking everywhere. I tried some of the anti-spatter spray I use with my mig welder, on the nozzle and standoff guide with great success. Any reason I shouldn't be using it? It's use is not mentioned either in the documentation with the cutter (Miller Spectrum 375), or on the can of Anti-Spatter.
Reply:Jwet,Welcome aboard on your first post.  I only wish I had a plasma cutter & the experience to answer you but I wanted to say that weekends are sometimes pretty slow here.  So don't be disappointed if you don't get a lot of replies for a little while.  Some of these guys act like they have other interests on weekends - you know, things like kids & wives, families and real lives.  That kind of stuff.

Reply:I only took half of the damn day off, because my wiff bought tickets to Martina McBride's concert so she could take me.  She even paid for parkin after I demonstrated usin the sidewalk to get around non moving traffic.I really don't see where usin antispatter is gonna hurt anything, though you might as well get used to the fact Plasma blows aluminum all over, it's just the nature of things.I'll wait for Fla Jim's expert answer though.  Jim knows his shut!  He was #1 in the #2 business for a while.Appreciation Gains You Recognition-
Reply:I've cut a lot of 6061 sheet, and 1/4" diamond plate. I didn't really have a splatter problem. I guess with different alloys you might. Try different amp settings, and feed speed. If you still have splatter on what your cutting. Spray is fine, just adds more cost.

Reply:I was cutting some 3003 Treadbrite the other day with my plasma and boy is that some gummy stuff. I got quite a bit of blowback on the torch from it. I think I'll try some anti-spat on it next time.
