http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/w...3&categoryId=0anyone ever look into these? if you had the tools, it looks like you might be able to build one. I know its not production, but there doesn't seem to be any commercial grade units for sale used around here.... just seeing what the consensus was....
Reply:Gee, how shall I put this?If I wanted an ironworker, I'd haul a real machine 1000 miles before I bought one of the POS toys from Northern.Where will you get parts? What makes you think Northern knows squatt about ironworkers?Do you think Northern can or will support the machine in a few years? It's cheap Chinese junk, and deserves to be left on Northern's dock.Appreciation Gains You Recognition-
Reply:franz, i believe METAL PRO is made in the USA[they claim to be anyhow!] but i have issues with a 110v~1 1/2 motor producing 45 tons at the punch [even with the leverage biult into the punch set!] then theres the dual action of the cyl.....cyl must push to punch and pull to shear, dual action valving? i looked at these pretty hard before i bought my EDWARDS......it never hurts to look, unless they`r WELDING!
Reply:For that price, I would suggest buying the Edwards 50 ton Ironworker. I just bought one a month ago for under 4900.00 delivered. Unit included starter punch set and coping attachmentJ P Streets Welding LLC |
