i have a makita angle grinder.. I found it at my grandpas house... anyway when you turn the switch on the wheel will jerk a little than itll stop, and thats it.. it dosnt go or anything, someone told me to sand those brushing things a little, and it still didnt work.. anyone kno what it could be
Reply:It could still be a brush problem, they may be burned down to short[need new set].this is usually a cheap repair.
Reply:would home depot and lowes have them?do i need ones specific for that model? or can i use ones out of any one?
Reply:You should be able to go to Lowes and show them what you have, they will either order what you need or send you to the nearest repair place,or give you Makitas toll free phone number.you will probally end up at a repair place .it may or may not be the brushes.i dont know if you need a specific set of brushes or not.i have pull the ones out of my Miluakie and sanded them but never had to replace them.those brushes looked just like the ones at work we pulled out of a d.c. drive motor.so who knows.pull the brushes out and pull the springs a little bit and sand the brushes to see if you can make it run a while.you cant hurt it. good luck
Reply:Some of the brushes have wear indicators on them but not a lot of them. If you suspect it could be the brushes you can either take one of the brushes or the whole grinder to either Home Depot or Lowes and they should be able to find you a set of brushes that will work in it.Good Luck
