hi all just purchased a lincoln invertec v130 tig second hand with no tig torch just the machine and cant find any information on what torch i need and how to set up the machine i have been on the lincoln online manuals but my machine is not listed any help would be great
Reply:Looks like you probably want a series 9 or series 17 tig torch with gas valve.http://www.arc-zone.com/index.php?ma...oducts_id=6556http://www.arc-zone.com/index.php?ma...oducts_id=7553The 9 series torch is a smaller more compact unit, and I doubt your machine has the amps to exceed the duty cycle on the torch. It uses the same parts as the 20 series water cooled torches, so they are usually readily available. The 17's are a more common torch, but are larger and a bit bulkier. It's probably not too hard to find a nice used 17 series torch, but make sure it has the gas valve or the only way you can turn on/off the gas flow will be at the cylinder. Tozzi did a good write up on scratch start tig rig. Yours will be pretty much the same. Either clamp to the stinger or get the appropriate Dinse for your machine and plug right in.http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=38106You will also need a reg and gas hose, power block or dinse with gas port, as well as the consumables for the torch, cup, collet, collet holder, backcap and tungsten, to match the size of tungsten you want and the series of the torch. Arczone can make sure you get the right parts to match up to the torch when you go to order it.Last edited by DSW; 08-18-2012 at 08:45 AM..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:Take the machine, and everything you have that goes with it, into your local welding shop. The LWS should be able to get you going.Ian TannerKawasaki KX450 and many other fine tools
Reply:Buy one of these:http://www.ebay.com/itm/105Z57-TIG-P...ht_2577wt_1038Go to YouTube and look up Weldingtipsandtricks.com. Jodi has a video on " Old school tig". He shows you the way to set up. Basically, the torch threads into one part of the adapter, the argon line from the regulator into the other. You set your Ar regulator to around 15 cfh, clamp your stinger to the large circular part of the adapter, open your torch valve and scratch start tig.TA Arcmaster 300CM3XMT 304S22P12 suitcase feederX-Treme 12VSOptima pulserTA161SMaxstar 150STLHypertherm PM45OP setupStihl 020AVP, 039, 066 Magnum |
