Looking for someone to weld a cracked frame in Santa Ana CA

I have a 1981 corvette project that has some cracks in the frame. I have the car in my garage in Santa Ana CA and have removed the control arms, power steering unit, pump, and everything else that would be in the way to give the best access to the area. I have also cleaned up all of the areas where the cracks are as best I can.Might need some reinforcing also. An aircraft engineer friend said tig would be best, but I'll leave that up to the experts. Reply:The old messy weld was there when I got it. That part with the threaded studs was for the original power steering setup which I no longer have (was replaced by an aftermarket system that doesnt use that bracket anymore). Here are a few more pics.

Reply:I could do some or all of the cleanup myself. Clearly it's not a show car. It's a daily driver.  I only care about making it solid and safe.

Reply:Gotta say guys,I have a '69 and the factory welds ain't much better.  Shockingly bad from factory.  Same frame. DOC is right.  You need to figure out why it happened.  Maybe add a gusset if room as well.  If there's some major problem, it's just gonna find the next weakest link to break.Looks like someone had a field day with a 110 mig and flux core.  Would the guys here that know what they're doing (not me) add a fish plate situated longitudinally and leave the crack alone?  Isn't one not supposed to weld transversely across the axis of any car or trailer frame if it can be avoided?Last edited by Drf255; 07-15-2014 at 05:34 AM.

Reply:mig weld that frame,.030 wire and an argon mix.vee out the cracks, and get rid of those puke welds..i'm 2 1/2 hours north of you..busy for the next two weeks though..face all times with a positive mental attitude,then and only then will you have done your best.
