Cam-lock clamps

Reply:MSC carries em also as well as EncoEnco is usualy a lower price but whatever ya have the best access to.just remember a jig is not the allz ballz for final welding.theyre perfect for tack up and begining welds but u cant rely on em to keep every thing sqaure and plumb as u weld...u gotta keep checking and doing your welds so that they help pull everything into alignment...just think of it like head bolts on a engine if ya just start at one spot and weld to the end as soon as ya pop it outa the jig it will spring on ya.trust me at the end of a 12 hr shift i once welded a 12 inch pipe into 4ft x 4ft by 2 inch thick plate thinking that the other 3-400 welds on the peice would keep everything straight(basicaly too tired and in a hurry)Well lets just say when i came in the next day and seen it i damn near ****...it put about a 3 inch bow in a 25 ft x 40ft x 4 ft sqaure frame with all the sag bars,cross braces and diagnals finish welded in place......doh

You know we won't laugh at it...well, you won't hear us laughing through your computer...hehe.I am doing my first piece of 6061 T6 schedule 40 1-1/2 pipe. It came out so poorly. I had a huge learning curve on this one. I am so ashamed. But I would have posted a pic if you had!Take it easy, have a good weekend.
