I have been talking about building a new wood stove for the shop, 42' x 60' x 25' metal truss building, lots of air gaps, for now. Most people are stating I should a firebox and make air flow around the box to pipe it through the shop. I have a bunch of ideas on how to make it. I am just wondering if anyone knows of a site that I can see some other ones.I am thinking the box would have a 5/16" thick main frame with a 1/8" air flow box spaced 2" around the top, sides, and bottom that connect to 6" main pipes to carry it around the shop. The firebox would be 3' wide, 4' tall, 4' deep, big logs.Any ideas would be great.
Reply:If you are going to box it in and duct the hot air away, that would be a wood furnace. Go to a Tractor Supply store and look at their Hotblast stoves to get an idea of construction.
