Reply:This was done with gmaw process. I was using .035 on 1/4 inch plate, was around 21 volts and about 215 amps
Reply:Beads look good, I'll give you that! You have a steady hand, which is good! (kind of important! )If you turn your voltage and wire up, you will find that you won't have to weave as much, if at all! I would give you settings, but every machine is different! The trick is to find that sweet spot with the machine you are using!

Reply:I was pretty much doing the same just drifted back a few times. Tonight I corrected that and I didnt long arc once.
Reply:If that is your buckshot, then you settings or procedure isn't right. If it someone else's then grind it off before you weld. so you can get a better idea of your progress.

Reply:Your padding looks really good.I use to build up a 2x2 angle and make it a complete 2x2 solid by weld build up. I then would cut it and check for inclusions and Lack of fusion lines. It is a real easy way to practice. It is practice for welding THICK plate.
