Ok so i scored a hobart hefty dirt cheap. Works great with my Miller Big 40 running .045 solid wire with gas. I would like to use it with fluxcore for some "on site " jobs. Mostly mild steel farm and construction equipment. What do you guys like? LWS suggested hobart 21B. Im new to fluxcore and open to suggestions.Lincolin Power Wave 450, Lincoln Powermig 255, Lincoln Pro Mig 140, Lincoln Squarewave Tig 275, Miller Big 40 G(with Hobart Hefty suitcase), Thermal Arc 95S and Esab PCM875 in an already full machine shop.

Reply:Hobart 21B or Lincoln NR-211 for all positions or NS3-M for flat only hot and fast repair work.Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."

Reply:Im not sure exactly what it was but there was a spool of Hobart flux core .30 in a welder I took on a onsite repair and it was nothing but problems. Wire coontinually broke as it was running thru the feed rollers and when I would rethread my wipe the wire that came out had weak spots and strong spots. Some of it I could tie in a knot, some would break in my hand without even bending it. I took it out the next day and put a gas bottle on an switched to Pro Star wire.
Reply:Be sure to change your feeding sprockets to the knurled type, instead of the smooth, when switching to fluxcore from solid wire.Constant Current Weldor. |
