Please critique

Here is a few pictures of a light bar that I just designed and built. Looking for opinions and suggestions on the welds or the bar for that matter. It was welded with a small mig welder. Flux core, about 100 amps. IIRC the wire speed was close to 5. It is a cheap welder so those values could be way off, that is the "theoretical" values.

Reply:We look for fused edges, or "toes" and you have some that look ok, and some others that look cold. I like the layout, nice and clean, and for holding lights, it will probably do just fine. I had a small fluxcore machine early on and tried to push it way beyond its capacity. In the end, I just got a bigger machine.It looks good, paint it! City of L.A. Reply:The weld to the plate looks good, the weld to the tube less good. I also would've advised staying at the end a little longer before stopping - shouldn't really matter here but it's good practice to fill the crater. I suspect you had the gun pointed more towards the plate than the tube, it would explain the apparent lack of fusion with the tube.
Reply:Exactly the advise I was looking for! I never thought to get pictures until after I had it primed.I think this is pushing it for the welder, I do have to work on the stops and hoprfully work on tieing in the edges better. I will need to soon look into a new mig. Would like something that I can get a spool gun for.Keep the suggestions coming. Thanks everyone!
Reply:X2 on those craters. Sorry, just one of my pet peeves seeing a crater at the end of a bead.
