Purchased a new Smith Flowmeter Reg, CGA580 ARG/CO2 (32-30-580-6) and today when I was cleaning up/ shutting down, I could hear gas leaking. I sprayed it down with soap/ water and this is where it was leaking. I figured it might be a fitting that did not get tight enough, but was quite surprised to find it leaking from the flowmeter tube. The flowmeter is the H1240. This was the second time I've used it.Anyone else experience this with this product? Any suggestions on a quick fix? Ill make some calls on Monday to see what kind of warranty/ return policy there might be.I ordered it from Weldfabulous, via Amazon, April, 2014.GarLincoln Electric, Power MIG 256Hypertherm Powermax 45 Miller Dynasty 280DXSmith O/A torchGenesis of a welding table
Reply:That's the down side of buying on line. If you had bought it at a local welding supply you could just walk in and exchange it. You have two choices. Send it back or take it apart and try fixing it your self.Dan D.Manipulator Of Metal

Reply:That sure seems unusual to me. We have SMITH regulators that get thrown around the shop and even dropped and no issues. Like you said about checking with where you bought it and with SMITH TOO . Ask them if there could be a recall on that model and maybe send them the picture too.

Reply:Update:Sent an email to Weldfabulous on Sunday (27th), received a reply Monday (28th). Customer service rep said to send it back and he would send a replacement. I put the defective reg/flow-meter in the mail today. GarLincoln Electric, Power MIG 256Hypertherm Powermax 45 Miller Dynasty 280DXSmith O/A torchGenesis of a welding table |
