Hey guys, I am looking for support for my bandsaw. I thought there was a group on Yahoo, but I only found the smaller bandsaw group. Anyone know where to point me to? Thanks!By the way, this one I have has the hydraulic downfeed, the vertical/horizontal, the coolant tank and pump already built in, not like the smaller version. In case you were wondering what the difference was. Even though this one was HF, it has worked really well for everything I cut, including 2inch by 2 inch solid bar stock. Lickity clean and straight. The chop saw burned up when I tried it. Yehaw, I bought a saw!
Reply:Joker I'll swear I saw you on Home Depot commercial.  The one where the guy leaves his yard care stuff under the car so his wife drives over them.  " Guess I'll have to go to Home Depot and buy all new stuff..   YES."DennisThermal Arc 185-TSWMillermatic Challenger 172VictorO/AAtlas Craftsman 12 by 24 LatheEsab PCM-875Wholesalem Tool Mill-Drill
Reply:that is a good one
Reply:joker i BOUGHT THET SAME SAW A FEW MONTHS AGO AND IT WORKS GREAT I HAVE CUT UP TO 7 INCH PIPE STRAIGHT. THE ONLY PROBLEM I FOUND WITH IT IS THE BLADE THAT COMES WITH IT AND THE ONE HF SALES IS NOT TO GOOD, OTHER THAN THAT IT WORKS GREAT
Reply:Some  items , i think -it pays to buy quality , i never been sorry I bought a Black&decker INDUSTRIAL chop saw . Now, that would be a "DEWALT" saw, 'cause after B&D bought out Dewalt  all the B&D industrial labels were changed to the dewalt Brand . I have also (my first chop saw ) a Makita & i don't like it near as well . The B&D SEEMS to have more guts .
Reply:I finally got a phone number for replacement parts. This really teed me off big time. I called and the guy was a total loser. I called to order a part for the 7x12. He said he had to have the model number. So I go get the model number. Then he says I need the part number. I was irritated and told him I just needed the coolant reservoir. He said there were over 150 parts listed for the saw. I said I don't need all 150. I need the reservoir. So he puts me on hold, no joke, for like 10 minutes. Comes back and tells me there is no reservoir and I would have to get the part number. I got ticked off and told him to look at the parts list again, cuz a plastic reservoir is an easy one to find amongst a list of metal parts. He said no. I told him fine. Start reading off the list of parts and I will tell you which one I need. He was annoyed and repeated that there were 150 parts. I said "You better read fast then" he rattled off about 5 part names when he got to "Coolant Tank". I stopped him and said that's the same thing as a reservoir, a tank, a reservoir, a tank, a reservoir....duh. So he goes through this whole prompt to order the part and then tells me it's on back order....so, order it and I will get it when I get it. So all tidy'ed up and I ask him where is he at? With his best American voice he told me I was calling him in New Delhi, India. I think it is hilarious that they train those guys to speak with an American accent in order to fool people into thinking they are NOT dealing with a call center in another country. Not good enough. ARRRRGHHH. Ok, I feel better now that I have vented.Lincoln Power Mig 210MP MIGLincoln Power Mig 350MP - MIG and Push-PullLincoln TIG 300-300Lincoln Hobby-Weld 110v  Thanks JLAMESCK TIG TORCH, gas diffuser, pyrex cupThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 101My brain

Reply:So would you still buy the same saw, was the 100 dollars u save @HF over  grizzly worth it? (I'm not being a smart**s) I am debating which one to buy and I was worried about the parts thing buying from HF, but they seem to be the same saws just a little more in cost and double the shipping from grizzly. I just emailed Grizzly last night about a planer I got for free 3 years ago for free that needs new blades, I didn't even have the whole ML# and this morning I received the model description to verify that it was correct and a link to the part!(They stopped making that planner 5 years ago but still  carry the blades) So I'm torn."Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine"However "lack of planning on my part may constitute an emergency on yours"
Reply:I like the saw. I still used it even though the cooling fluid would leak out of the cracked reservoir. It cuts well. I had to replace the blade once because I let a friend use the saw and he dropped the cutting arm down on the material rather than setting the feed rate nice and slow. I have only used the cheap HF blades and they cut mild steel just fine. It comes with a vertical table if you want to use it. I never have. I think the saw does a great job. I am not a machinist needing super tight tolerances on my cuts, but I always get nice square cuts and they are so nice and pretty compared to what my chop saw used to do. So, yes, I would buy the same saw. I got it for a KILLER deal that the manager gave me due to some backorder issues in his store. I drove 4 hours to Tucson to get it. Still worth it.Lincoln Power Mig 210MP MIGLincoln Power Mig 350MP - MIG and Push-PullLincoln TIG 300-300Lincoln Hobby-Weld 110v  Thanks JLAMESCK TIG TORCH, gas diffuser, pyrex cupThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 101My brain

Reply:ok, one is red and one is green. One has wheels the other doesn't. the cutting speeds are close, but not the same. The hydraulic cylinder is mounted differently on the two models. Other than that. I can't see anything substantially different.Lincoln Power Mig 210MP MIGLincoln Power Mig 350MP - MIG and Push-PullLincoln TIG 300-300Lincoln Hobby-Weld 110v  Thanks JLAMESCK TIG TORCH, gas diffuser, pyrex cupThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 101My brain
Reply:I've recently ordered some spare parts for various Harbor Freight tools: window sheets for my blast cabinet, grinding wheels for my tool grinder, etc.  I ordered via internet.  I didn't have specific part numbers, but was able to look at the product manual and say, "item 16, fig. 12, screw" and they took it from there.  They were nice to deal with.  Two items were backordered, but I got them a couple of weeks later.  The only thing I didn't like was that doing it that way, I had to give them my credit card info via email instead of via a more secure method.  I thought about sending half my number on one email, the other half on a separate email, but I thought that might confuse them.I went to our local store to see if they could get parts and they were clueless.
