I gao this welder for free and I dont fully understand how it works. This is how i Got it[IMG][/IMG]Here is a pic of the power supply[IMG][/IMG]It has inlet and oulet for argon and water. Input for work and electrode from power supply. There are only three hoses going to the torch and no way to get current to the torch tip.[IMG][/IMG]The water return was connected to a brass coupling that was bonded to (torch electode terminal).[IMG][/IMG]Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Reply:The current goes through the water return line, It has wire inside it. The water keeps the line cool and prevents it from melting. Common setup for most water cooled torches. One or two minutes welding without the water running and you will have a mess of melted hose and cable inside it. Did you get a cooler with the setup, if not you can connect the water supply line to a faucet and get water circulating and then the return water goes to drain , etc.
Reply:Ok....thanks for the info. I'm gona hook it up to my spigot in my shop and let it drain outside. I think this will be a good machine. |
