I'm looking for a welder for home. Don't need anything big. I was wanting to weld alum also. I have used large Miller machines and don't care for Lincoln. Any suggestions?

Reply:Kind of vague. Mig or tig?For tig, the Dynasty 200 would be the Cadillac of home machines to do AC tig. I'd put the Syncrowave 200 or Syncrowave 180 next in that order. I wouldn't turn down a decent deal on a larger Syncrowave either, especially if you wanted to do 1/4" alum. I'd love to have a Syncro 250 instead of my Syncro 200 for the house. If I'd had the spare cash available, I'd probably gone and gotten the sweet almost new Syncro 250 Brendonv ended up getting. I wouldn't even be opposed to an older 330AB/P or similar machine, especially if budget was a major concern. The one I had a chance to run was very nice. Basic, with out all the bells and whistles, but a solid machine that they picked up for very little. I wouldn't waste the money on one of the Diversions from Miller. Too much money and not enough options with limited output.Next choice would probably be the TA 185. while I haven't personally had a chance to run one, everyone I know who has one has loved it. Reply:Joe, buy the Dynasty DX that Loolagigi is selling. He's located close to you.
