So dj55b put a thread up about welding razor blades. I put a quick and dirty flat razor welded picture up I wasn't to awfully proud of. When I did that I used what was right in front of me. Which was a 1/16 tungsten , 1/16 316 fill. Turns out I misunderstood the post anyway and put a ugly weld up for the world to see! I still haven't gotten the correct razors but when I do Ill try it out and post it. Anyways heres a better picture with the right tools being used for the job. Also in the background is some foil I melted together just because I couldn't resist after watching that video.... Whats some more fun stuff to melt? Attached Images

Reply:Pm me your address. I shave exclusively with DE blades or straight razors.Call me old fashioned.
Reply:I have seen the aluminum foil trick...at least how they did it... What they did ( as far as I can tell) they folded it over then brazed across the same folded area very quickly and created a "weld"...I would like to try the razors as well, problem the H/F...how the hell can I light up when I can't even get through the H/f without blowing the edge off...all I can think is using a copper/aluminum backing...Lincoln pro mig 180Lincoln Square Wave Tig 300/wp 20/home built water cooler Victor, Purox, Harris, O/A welding/cutting setupsVintage Craftsman drill pressVintage Craftsman/Atlas 12"x 36'' lathe7''x 12'' w/c band saw Everlast 140 st |
