A Craigslist Upgrade..........

The other day I was doing my usual morning routine before getting to work.......I found an add on Craigslist for a Lincoln Precision TIG 185........... A machine I had not heard of.......The guy was selling his machine, Argon bottle, consumables, and a stainless table...... the post said $2200..... A little rich for my blood.... but decided to scope it out anyway......Machine is HF, with adjustable balance.......... Pulse.... and Post flow settings..... something my Squarewave doesn't have..... my first TIG machine which has been awesome..........Full Argon bottle....... a bunch of stick electrodes he never used..... and Tungsten (which I have managed to lose on the way home..... Damn!)........ and a stainless table (A POS that I'll slice and dice for other projects.......)I said "What's your bottom dollar?....." He said "make me an offer.....""I have $1800 cash"........ "OK".......From my research...... my offer was sound...... you may agree..... or disagree....... I am happy to have the spare bottle....... and the stainless....... and the machine..... with less than 2 hours of use most likely........I'll soon be selling my Squarewave (thanks Papa..... a great machine!".......)PICS..... Reply:I was going to recommend the Advance Control Panel, but it doesn't look to be an option for that unit. Reply:That's the same machine I use at school. It's fantasic! I love that thing. I will say from what I see (maybe it's just that machine) but it seems to run hotter than what it says. Reply:Nice find. I have that same machine and like it a lot. One upgrade you might consider (depending on the material you weld) is a smaller torch. That's the only think I have changed and it's nice when welding below 125 amps. Very lightweight and can fit into small spaces.
