I think my regulator is failing, Its humming and squealing like a pig when I hit the pedal to weld and makes the noise at 10cfh to 30cfh.  Seems like something is loose inside. The Syncrowave 210 is like 2 weeks old and the regulator is giving bum, My 211 regulator sucks as well since I had to replace one of the gauges a couples months of owning it and used it maybe 3 times since then.  Seems like the smith regulators are failing quality wise, I have had my harbor freight regulator for like 5 years and no problems. Going to switch to the harbor freight special and see if the smith regulator can get replaced. If it does I will sell the POS and buy something nicer, any recommendations ?Last edited by NinjaRay; 08-22-2014 at 07:18 AM.Reason: Video Added
Reply:Squeal is most likely the seat not seating properly. It happens on occasion with new seats. Most times they will wear in and the noise will stop, but since it's new and under warranty, just take it back. Miller should deal with this no problem thru whoever you bought it from. ( another good reason to deal local if possible) I had a Smith reg a few years back that had some issues and they didn't bat an eye at replacing the new reg. Basically they told the counter guy to pull one off a floor unit and give it to me and ship the one back so they could look at it and they'd send him a replacement right away..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:So I will be getting a new regulator from LWS, Seems like I have the worst of luck with smith regulators. I have owned the millermatic 140, 211 and now the syncrowave and every regulator leaked or has problems, Anyone else run into faulty smith regulators ? Off to harbor freight to buy a quality regulator .
Reply:It's either a Monday or Friday assy date unit.......zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:I haven't had a single issue with my $30 flowmeter from HTP. Will never use a regulator again. Reply:This is the regulator Gamble is speaking of. And to be honest I own one as well. As do many other members. It's definitely a quality made regulator, unlike paying for the name of somebody like smith, victor, or harris, for home use its perfect. http://www.ebay.com/itm/HTP-Argon-CO...item20b74c4d3cMiller Maxstar 200 SDPiperliner #10 Gold

Reply:I am ordering the HTP flow meter, since its cheaper then the victor flow meter that my LWS carries.  I just got my stubby lens kit for my 210 from htp a couple days ago.  Thanks for the pointers, when I get the new regulator from miller I will probably keep it as a back up for my 211.
