auto darkening lens screwed?

So we got monsooned at work yesterday. My hood got flooded just getting back to the truck. It started out where it would stay permanently dark. I put it in the sun to dry, and it when light again. Sweet, right? Nope. I hit the battery check button and it went dark once but kinda sputtered instead of going dark again like it should. Now it's stuck light.Any suggestions as to what may work to fix it? Other than a new lens? I think i may be screwed, but it's worth a shot.
Reply:Batteries out, soak immersed in a container of ethanol overnight, dry thoroughly with heat or in s vacuum chamber, then try it again.
