boot lace opions

I'm getting tired of going through 2-3 pairs of boot laces a month, I've went as far as trying leather ones and they just plain suck. When you pull on them to cinch up your boot they break. Reply:It might be a burr on the eyelets or speed laces. They can get sharp.Another problem is just cheap laces. The ones they give away at Red Wing boots tend to do what you describe. Reply:While I've not used it myself (yet) another option might be pull cord rope for a small engine. Not the cheap stuff they sell in kits but the good stuff. I keep a rolls of it in stock to replace broken ropes. The high quality stuff is some of the best most abrasion resistant rope I've ever used. Reply:Buy good quality leather laces from a boot repair place, lube them with boot oil or saddle soap. I have leather laces that I have moved to new boots. Should last in excess of a year.

Reply:I used the kevlar laces for years ,I used to get them from a campimg store,They don't last for ever but a hole lot longer than regular laces.

Reply:I recently heard about Rhino laces. Never used them myself- but they claim the laces to be unbreakable, fire proof, cut proof, or they will replace them for free. Amazon has them, but some of the users comments state it being very stiff and difficult to tie.

Reply:+1 on Stick-man's Kg's. You can get them at Home of Economy here.  Little stiff at first but do last a long time.  They do not come on tied either!

Reply:Those laces I purchased were for existing boots that were breaking regular laces. So until I got the kevlar laces I have been using duct tape around my ankle's.
