So I bought one of those plasma cutters from china, the ones that you can't find any info on anywhere and the instructions are completely vague. It works great for the first cut and as long as it's continuous it'll keep going but as soon as I stop I can't get it to start up again. Does it have to do with the duty cycle or some kind of thermal protection shut-off? I have it wired with a 220 plug, maybe something to do with the amps? Anyone else have any luck with this machine?
Reply:Honestly, that sounds like the SAME problem they had for months and months and months that they stated they had solved, but still had MANY complaining customers ranting that they hadnt been fixed/repaired. Several people ran out of warranty prior to getting it fixed (a looong supposed warranty) or gave up.After I heard about that situation I bailed on the idea of getting a Cut40.Other than that "issue". Check air pressures, air filter, and beyond that...I'd be raising hell with dad and son.ThermalArc 185MillerMatic 180 w/ AutosetVictor Cutskill Oxy/AcetyleneThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 38and spite!

Reply:Does it seem to make a difference how long the first cut is when this happens? If so then it could be a duty cycle issue. Otherwise try touching the tip to the workpeice for a second to get the arc started. I have a Chinese plasma and anytime I have arc starting issued that seems to be the answer.Where in Cali are you? |
