I made this baseball stand for a father of a friend of mines 60th B-day... It's just plain 1/2" mild steel and 1 3/4" or so tubing... used the belt sander to get the grain. It was a nice little project... My original plan was to run a nice pretty SS bead around it( he's a welding engineer) but after seeing how clean the grain came out I decided I would just tack it quick on the inside and hopefully not discolor it..."I really like the design.
