Is there a roller out there for turning flat sheet metal into tubing. I know it's done a lot with large plate to make welded pipe. I just need to turn some stainless or aluminum sheet into tubing for different things.
Reply:They are called slip rolls. There are many different brands and Harbor Freight, Grizzly and Northern tool all sell them. You can also find plans to build your own on E-Bay.

Reply:Small diameter tubing can be formed on a press brake with the proper dies. Not a cheap way to do it though.A man who can't weld is as poorly educated as a woman who can't sew
Reply:As yamahammer stated, they are called Slip Rolls. If you want to do Stainless, get it in 18ga. sheet, you won't be able to do 16 ga. with anything the regular retail stores offer. Even the 18ga. SS will be tough. Good luck and let us know how it turns out. Get it...turns out. John - fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!- bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
Reply:general rule with stainless is it drops 2 gauges. if a slip roll is rated for sixteen gauge steel, only good for 18 gauge stainless etc.
