I hope this is the right place for this, But here it is I will try to be as impartial as possible and this is from owning these boots since June/July. As I wear these boots daily I have come to know them well I transitioned from loggers and they are quite comfortable I have 4e and very high arches.  When I purchased the boots I did not opt for the insoles to see how it would pan out the boots are a very neutral sole and arche support if you need the support get them. Over all I am pleased with the width and toe room I was used to buying 14 d boots in the past to compensate but I ended up getting a 12 d which is a great fit.  I wear smart wool socks daily so the boot is snug with the semi lace to toe design is nice.  The break in time is longer than expected it took me 1-1 1/2 months to fully break them in once I got them I applied two coats of obeanaufs lp wax to aid the process after 4 weeks I washed them and applied two more coats.  The boots are overall light 1lb=5lb on your back so these make walking and working on hard surfaces more pleasant then other boots I have owned/worn.  ASTM c/75 rated, EH, ALUM toe, steel shanks and vibram fire and ice sole for $280 it is not a bad price for what you're getting in the box.   I did purchase the insoles as stated above from redwing which added another $68 the amount is not to high considering they can be resoled and new lowers. They do come with toe savers already on them which I kill toes on boots constantly I tie them in a double helix pattern which provides plenty of support in the foot bed and ankle for a 9" boot is impressive.  The heel support is slightly low I prefer I athletic yet supportive feeling boot I could wear these hunting or hiking and be fine I can run in these which I do not advise.I do have some dislikes though I am nit picky about stuff the laces included are garbage get some whites leather laces they last about a month or so but do not give you blisters or chaffed fingers from tying your boots.  The leather is not the best I lay on the ground with creepers or without working on vehicles and the surfaces have scratched up the leather pretty badly. The stitching on the upper near some on the scratching is coming undone and falling out which has caused very minor separation.  The last one is they are made in CHINA I am not a fan of outsourcing and importation of consumer goods to America for another $20-40 I would pay to have Made In U.S.A. With U.S.A. materials and labor. Overall I am happy with them but I am split on the durability so far and the recommendation to others I am seriously thinking about investing in a pair of wescos, nicks, whites or another custom U.S.A. boot maker for the durability and longevity also to support American jobs.  If you are looking to spend as little as possible for a decent boot to wear all day with the certs I listed I will recommend them other than that spend the money on a really nice pair. The two things you really need to invest in are your boots and your mattress because you are either in one or the other.
Reply:Redwing makes boots in the USA, but you have to be sure that's what you are getting. on their website you can sort by country of origin, and from there select between import, assembled in USA with imported components, and Made in the USA. Everything I've heard about the US made redwings has been great. I know a guy who absolutely destroys boots, got 7 months out of USA made chippewa's, 6 weeks out of carolinas, and about 3 months out of everything else. He's got a year and ahalf into his pair of redwings now and hasn't needed a resole yet.
Reply:It is about time for me to boot up again too.I have been using those insoles for years and they are the best I ever used, very nice arch support. I don't heat them to set them though as I thought when I did that with my first pair the arch dropped a little. No problems though I took them back in a few days and they gave me a new pair. The problem with boots like this is that you will still be wearing them in 5 years and they will smell like a skunk died in there for every month.I had to travel recent and only wear boots. All mine are pretty skunked up so I went with a $25 pair from walmart. I laugh every time I put them on.
