Can I use a tractor supply champion 3500w/4500w generator with my lincoln 175 mig. I will be welding a patch for a horse trailer attic so the sheet metal is thin. And how do I set it up if I can use it?
Reply:I have run mine off an 8000w generator and it worked fine but I think you might be pushing the limits of a 3500w. At low power settings you may be alright.

Reply:I have run a miller dialarc at about 200amps with a 5500 watt generator. When I went to 250amps the machine did cut off from time to time
Reply:I would direct that question to lincoln. Perhaps they have a similar answer for that machine as to this a sitck machine.http://www.lincolnelectric.com/en-us...ze-detail.aspx

Reply:The trailer is a gooseneck and the patch is in the front attic and my garage won't fit my truck. I was going to run a extention but if I can use the generator Ill do it out in the field where it's parked
