I have a new Riland Combo TIG/Plasma box, and I was trying to set up the Plasma cutter.Does the Ground Clamp wire go the the (+)Positive jack on the front of the machine similar to the way you would setup a TIG torch for welding steel (DCEN).Thanks,
Reply:I think Plasma uses - ground.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:Found this page that says the plasma cutting process uses DCEN and the work piece is to be positive polarity.http://www.twi.co.uk/j32k/protected/band_3/jk51.html
Reply:Looks like I am wrong. Did your new machine come with instructions?DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:Plug your ground clamp to the + and start chopping away. You will use the same polarity when you TIG mild and stainless as well. Enjoy!
Reply:It's gotta be work +, electrode -, as everyone says. The electrode would turn into a molten blob in about two seconds the other way, right? Hmm, who wants to try it? Favorite right now is a Miller Syncro 200.Tons of tools and I blame at least one of them when things don't go right.
Reply:I have a similar machine. Ground is +.Below is a pic of a riland unit (not mine) Attached ImagesMy Photos on Flickr |
