we are looking at a new inverter type TIG for doing installs and were hopeing some one might have the ones were sre looking at to give us a heads up on them. 1st we are looking at the Miller Maxstar 150 STL the best price we can find on this one is about $1400 (for the package ,includeing the torch, leads, regulator, etc) 2nd we are looking at the ESAB Miniarc 150 APS the best price on this one is around $1000 (includeing torch regulator leads Etc) they seem to be comparable the ESAB is a bit heavier at around 18LB VS/ the miller at around 14LB both have lift arc starting and both have the same duty cycle and volt/amp ranges. is the miller worth an extra $400?thanks MPsorry for the double post ...... I didn't think it went through the first time......Heat it and Beat it!!!http:www.Fallinghammerproductions.com
Reply:Just a guess, but ESAB is a reputable company, and from the specs you are comparing, the ESAB is a good value.
Reply:Hey! The Miller Should be Made In USA The Esab probably Isn't If U worry about things like That Thanks!
Reply:Miller (see other thread)
Reply:If you just get the power supply it is $900 for the miller. Surely you can find leads, torch and regulator for less than 500. Less than 200 probably. I would go for the lighter one, if all else seems equal.
Reply:It's about 2000 for everything and I've got mine hooked up to a water cooler. It can go down to 3 amps and unless your welding anything thicker than 3/8 it's a great product and deal. I really wanted to get a miller too, but I've now got a thing for Thermal Arc products, goes to show don't judge a welder just because everyone else has the other brand X. JMOErik
Reply:You need to look on eBay...Miller Maxstar 150 with all the goods $1256.77
Reply:Erik, Thermalarc makes great TIG welders. I love Miller, but have not found any problems with my thermalarc tig welder. mpmetal, buy one, you will LOOOOVE it! I guarantee it. That is an awsome machine! |
