In our welding area in the shop, we have an 8" crown in 25' in the floor. After our horizontal saw fell over when it was raised all the way up, (set up to miter 45 degrees), I put a chain on it to limit the travel of the saw. I bought a different bolt to put in the saw, and I will trim the chain. I just wanted to make sure it opened up wide enough for cutting different materials. It made a world of difference in the stability of the saw. I also made an outrigger for the saw, but I need to put a plate on the inside so the leg doesn't flex the side of the saw cabinet so much.
