Had to build something to twist some 3/8 by 11 flat bar to build a jig for a project of cutting cerbon fiber on our waterjet Attached Images
Reply:Not sure exactly what you are building, but nice work on the twister. Those torque multipliers can sure come in handy.
Reply:^ Same here but some real nice work.
Reply:i'll post more pictures as we go. This is going to hold a chunk of carbon fiber that is already formed (twisted) we have to mount it to this jig then cut a contoured profile and holes with a 5 axis 3d water jet
Reply:sounds like hell of a machine/project!Makes me waterjet look like a toy haha
Reply:Are the plates part of the jig or are they just there to hold pieces in place until it is finished?
Reply:I'm curious to see this thing in action. What is the carbon fiber for that needs such a sweet jig?Impressive as well good job!
Reply:Carbon is what I do to pay the bills and I'd also like to know what it is but my guess must be a flat panel.
Reply:Ya ill post a video, and the carbon fiber is for aerospace company cant say who they are or what it is but, the paltes hold the end its six inches thick and twisted to the plates, the plates will have holes to mach the carbon fiber. Our water jet can cut upto 10 inches of steel(limited by software) and hold plus or minus .002 check out our website www.shapecutindustries.com |
