Reply:1st 2 look good. 3rd one and the 7018 beads look like you could slow down a touch since I see the ripples getting a bit pointy. These beads also could use a bit more consistency..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth! Ronald Reagan
Reply:Hey DSW, The first 3 pictures are of the same weld just different angles of pictures,The 7018 pictures are all one weld different angles for the pictures, my cell does not like to focus on welds lol7018 rod is from the box in the shop and didn't want to burn nice, thunderbolt was set at about 130-132A. and it shows in the speed my bad. Should of grabbed some from the rod oven.headed to the LWS this coming AM to swap the Acetylene for a full tank, drop a torch for rebuild (Harris 85 and 72-3)and pick up some various rod to mess with. The only rod i have ever used is 7018. Thinking of getting some of all the ones in the poll that's posted up lol
Reply:Is the "pointiness" only from speed or is it ever from rod angle?
Reply:That im not sure to be honest.I picked up some 6013 first impression is they are damn sparklers compared to 7018.I need to burn a few more and get my heat sorted out seems i need a lot of amps from the thunderbolt for 1/8" rod over 130A for both 6013 and 7018 when i normally burn 7018 at roughly 119A on the Lincoln |
