I know this is a terrible first post(longtime lurker). Im going tomorrow to pick up a truck a few hours away and in the same area I found an Arcmaster 185 for sale. Comes with everything including bottle, "very little use". They are asking $1650 for it. As I understand the arcmaster is the 3rd gen model? I know people are asking a lot for these machines but what would be a realistic offer for this machine if it is indeed in great shape? I just don't want to miss out while im down there. Ive been looking for a used tig for a long time. thanks
Reply:Me and many others on this site are really good at spending your money. Looks like it is half of new price plus the gas cylinder. If it has the features you are looking for, go for it. I've heard TD makes good stuff.GravelThe difference between theory and practice is that in theory there is no difference.
Reply:Never heard of it. What's the duty cycle? AC or just DC? Frequency adjustable? Balance adjustable? Pre flow, and post flow adjustable? 185 isn't much for aluminum. $1650 will buy a Syncrowave 250.
Reply:Its the thermal arc predecessor to the 186. I know based on months of research that its a good welder if it can be had for the right price. Ive been looking for 9 months for the right deal to pop up. Seems good tigs hold their value well. Syncrowaves are on my short list as are TA 185's. Just depends on what I can get he best deal on I guess. Money is tight right now. I was thinking the 185 should be worth about $1200 right now. There are a few on CL nation wide for about $1500-1700.Miller DVISpot cleared out for TIG |
