Hi all  I got new 225 bobcat a few weeks back,  just getting around to makeing a cart.Iam thinking roll bars with cable wraps.  wheels that will roll outside , a hitch to hook-up to the lawn tractor or 4 wheeler and  a T bar for moveing it a round in the shop.  extra room on the cart fortool box or plasma or tanks ( for tig or o/a ) a little ramp for the tanks maybe.  tool tray,  fire extinguisher and or water can.  Anything else?My master plan is to make this dolley and then someday down the road make a welding rig trailer, and put this welder dolley on it.    here what I got so far ...  the front axle kicking my a$$Dayethem super thin cut off wheels that cut so fast . Hurt!   time for cut off tool. this on 20 + years old  no guard NO GOOD Attached ImagesLast edited by tigmusky; 01-15-2011 at 10:00 PM.
Reply:front axle with zerks and grease groove.  need to make some tie rods. heim joint or ball and socket thing a ma jobbers Attached Images

Reply:OUCH!!  Looks like that hurt just a little. Pretty involved framework you've got going there.  Should hold up well and keep the photos coming on that front axle build.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:I had the same Idea for my machine and to have a winch and be able to pull it up in the enclosed trailer but I just sollid mounted it instead it was to heavy to man handle by my self. I was going to have a spot on top for my plasma cutter, angle grinders, have a misc clamp level pencil box, lead holder, and extension cord holders. Yours looks to be coming along very nicely don't know if you bought them yet but just go ahead and invest in run flat tires. Those small tube don't love having a big load on them all the time.Vantage 300 kubota ,miller 304 xmt ,lincoln ln 25 pro , ranger 305 G, plenty of other tools of the trade to make the sparks fly.
Reply:got the tie rods and pivot point done and the axles bolted on.  I bolted the axles ,in case I have the move them. I don.t know if my idea of have the rear axle at the balance point of the welder will work. My thinking is.   keep some of the weight off the steering axle. and if I put two tanks up front the load should be about and equal out.  Iam putting the handle on the wrong end.  most dolley have the handle on the front side. I think the back should work good.  the handle won't be in the way when starting or adjusting the amps.  In the last pic are 2 poormans transfer punchs ( left and right.  the one on the right 5/8'' was for practice I forgot I needed 9/16'' oops!  the middle one works sweet on flat surfaces not so good on the angle of the channelDaye Attached ImagesLast edited by tigmusky; 01-16-2011 at 08:16 PM.
Reply:day 2 of the arm.  still hurts like 3 mother f-ers this is pretty close to where it will sit on the dolley It's getting heavy. I may have to make it a dually or a tandem axle Daye Attached Images
Reply:Holly hell you bruise! Did you clean that out real good with anti-bacterial soap? Keep it clean!Looks like you got nailed by a baseball!
Reply:Looks good can't wait to see it finsihed and welding!!Vantage 300 kubota ,miller 304 xmt ,lincoln ln 25 pro , ranger 305 G, plenty of other tools of the trade to make the sparks fly.
Reply:my Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) kick into high,so I didn't get whole lot done.  I am rethinking the tires??   these are going to be too soft. I don't think I'll be able to move it by hand .  I thought this was going to happen..I've looked for tire and could not find anything worth a damn. or they were way $$$. I might go to the local lawn mower guy and  see what I can find.  I could go with the tandem axle but, turning is horse shizI got 1 roll bar made. I had to make a jig for cutting out a 1/4 of the pipe to slide on the end of the platfrom. makes a nice smooth cornor .Daye Attached Images
Reply:the top pipe is the jig 1-1/4  slide the 1'' in side and cut with plasma Attached Images
Reply:The picture of the transfer punches: is the center one a spring loaded, self centering transfer punch? If so where do you get them? I have one that is about wore out.

Reply:put a little arm coming out with a hole on the end a pop a pin through it and pull it with the deere or w.e you have at the site if anything... for the wheels i have witnessed it but idk if i would do it myself it is similar 7a749's request i saw a guy fill his tires with the "great stuff" he was using it for alot of bags of concrete. i belive he took the valve stem out to fill it.
Reply:still pissed off at cart,so I didn't do anything with .  I did stop by the local small engine guy.  1st stop I got 2 15.00x 5.00 tires and rims $ 10.00  not bad.  2nd small engine shop he waned $40.00 for 2. I passed.  2 tires should work for now . hopefuly by this weekend I'll by in a better cart building mood. Attached Images
Reply:I liked the way you attached the posts to the corners of the cart.It took extra effort, but looks stronger and more professional.Sometimes people get very angry if they skip a meal or delay a meal.Always take good care of yourself. It can prevent an accident also.Last edited by Donald Branscom; 01-19-2011 at 07:33 PM.AWS certified welding inspectorAWS certified welder
Reply:Hi tigmuskyIf you have not, check the Hugo Feed Mill & Outdoor Power Shop. Besides the main building by the mill they have two buildings in back that are full of used lawn and power equipment stuff. I've gotten small gas tanks, tractor seats and other good stuff for some of my projects; at pretty cheap prices. ( real reason... to lazy to put up a paint booth)  paint in the spring outside. What do you think for colors????   Black that's lame.   Miller blue,   maybe transporter yellow . Reply:i think for paint everyone just uses rustolum safety blue. i have used it before and its a close match to the miller. tell your wife theirs nothing wrong with green, i work for a farmer and most all but two of the tractors are green and allot of random projects that we have done have been painted green._______________________OF COURSE I DON'T LOOK BUSY... Reply:Cool cart for the Bobcat!I like the steering set up.  It lLooks like it allows for it to tip a little side-to-side on the front end so the cart can keep all four paws on the ground when rolling on uneven surface.  Nice!!I might have added a deflector to move cooling air exiting the machine away from the compressed gas bottles, especially where the acet. valve is directly in line with the exiting air flow where it may tend to become a dirt catcher.- MondoMember, AWSLincoln ProMIG 140Lincoln AC TombstoneCraftsman Lathe 12 x 24 c1935Atlas MFC Horizontal MillCraftsman Commercial Lathe 12 x 36 c1970- - - I'll just keep on keepin' on.
