Here was my original bike rackBike rack #1I had a neighbor give me a 4 wheeler (broken to him, but I had it fixed in about 15-30 minutes).  I offered to give it back but he wouldn't take it.  He mentioned that he wanted the space in his shed for his bicycles.  I offered to build him a bike rack.  He wanted 7 slots (5 kids and 2 adults).Took about 3-4 hours (including paint time) and about 100 bucks in materials.Dimensions:  Risers are 28" tallSpace between risers: 2.5"Space between riser sets: 12"Depth: 20"Gap between front bar and the bar that holds the risers:  8 - 5/8"Overall width:  10'I have a sister-in-law with a similar bike rack, but hers are 10" apart (riser sets).  She said she wished for 1-2" more, so that is why mine are 12" apart. Reply:cool job. But why would someone need a bike rack in their shed? What is wrong with a kickstand? Reply:Hey, I said cool.  Was just curious and now I know. I wasn't aware. I have a different neighborhood. My neighbor mentioned jumping my brick wall to swim in my pool. He plays on my wife's softball team and I know him. My reply was "that's a good way to get lead poisoning" he laughed. I reiterated that if I see him or his heathen spawn in my yard I would shoot him and he would have to climb back over the wall and use his own phone to call 911. He hasn't spoken to me since.Good fences make good neighbors. Brick walls and .45's make my property more secure. (very tongue in cheek)   One of the harder things for me to teach my autobody students is that you have to work quickly and do the job right.  They will soon be paid by flag hours and have to produce work to make any money.  On flag hours, you get X amount of dollars to do a particular task, no matter how quickly or slowly you do it.Last edited by Crabo; 05-26-2013 at 08:52 PM.
