Tig rod holder

Years ago I had a tig rod holder/feeder that resembled a mechanical pencil.  It would feed filler rod in by rolling a wheel.  It worked well, but I havn't seen any since, I would like to get another. Has anyone else seen what I'm talking about?  I know the real answer is to learn to feed rod correctly with a better finger technique! So I am expecting the flak. However I have yet to master that, I keep trying. This trick feeder worked well for me.

Reply:That looks like it, thanks.  I am still trying to master the finger feed method.  I can do it with no gloves easily, but I'm still having trouble with tig gloves on.
Reply:What I find troubling with trying to feed filler with gloves is that the looser fitting the glove, the more difficult it is to feed.  I'm hoping to pick up some dedicated tig gloves to see if it offers any improvement.  Just gotta decide which ones.
Reply:I saw one of Jody's vids suggesting practice your feed hand while watching tv or whatever. Reply:It is a good tool, but it does promote bad habits of not learning to feed rod correctly.  I still want another one.

Reply:Ha ha, a little bit.  I wish I had that when I first started learning how to feed the rod. I think the secret is finding the right glove and just practicing. Reply:I told you I was going to get flak, but I just haven't mastered feeding rod like some of you say you can.  I usually freeze it in the puddle and pull my hand back, which is obviously not the best technique either. I know it promotes bad habits, but if you weld long enough your finger tips start going a little numb from all the hot steel and tools like this are crutches.
