OK, I finally upgraded my portable outfit to the miller trailblazer 275 with 30A spoolgun and WC-24 controller. I have an econotig I can run off the aux power for lighter aluminum, and a S32P voltage sensing suitcase to run flux core and wire. I wondered about the TIG options on the machine. It's DC only, but what exactly does the "crater fill" or "pulsed TIG" or "auto stop" do? I have 14 pin remotes off my shop tig I can probably use. Or would I be better off just plugging the shop econotig directly into the aux power for DC tig as well? Also, can the optima pulser be added to the 30A and WC-24 controller and is it worth it? I have never used a pulser before and it seems most previous threads on the optima are negative. Does it allow for much thinner aluminum mig capability? I ran it with my Bobcat for 10 hours ysterday during a PGE shut down to power two panels on a commercial buisness with many refrigeration units. It was drawing about 33 amps average aux power and ran smooth. |
