Reply:The Thermal Arc 95s is a good little welder. Had a TA 85 Dragster (the previous model) and ended up selling that to buy a TA 161STL."USMCPOP" First-born son: KIA Iraq 1/26/05Syncrowave 250 w/ Coolmate 3Dialarc 250, Idealarc 250SP-175 +Firepower TIG 160S (gave the TA 161 STL to the son)Lincwelder AC180C (1952)Victor & Smith O/A torchesMiller spot welder
Reply:My good friend has a TA 95 and likes it. I've used it on tig and the arc was very smooth.Dave J.Dave J.Beware of false knowledge; it is more dangerous than ignorance. ~George Bernard Shaw~ Syncro 350Invertec v250-sThermal Arc 161 and 300MM210DialarcTried being normal once, didn't take....I think it was a Tuesday.
Reply:Nice little welders. But they are throw a ways. Once they are out of warranty they are not worth fixing. When in warranty we replace most of them.
Reply:Had a 95S that got destroyed in hurricane Sandy. Great little welder for small jobs. Used it alot without hitting duty cycle. Pretty amazing piece of equipment. If you're in the market, I'd go with the 161S. It has more output on 120 volts than the 95, and you have the 220 option. The price isn't much more than the 95S.TA Arcmaster 300CM3XMT 304S22P12 suitcase feederX-Treme 12VSOptima pulserTA161SMaxstar 150STLHypertherm PM45OP setupStihl 020AVP, 039, 066 Magnum |
