outdoor christmas lights

I know I know it's only summer  but I've been thinking lately for ideas of simple things I can make for fun and practice and the idea of outdoor christmas stuff came to mind, I looked up some bits online for ideas and realised they sell for a decent price considering they look fairly basic, my thinking was to make some mainly to keep me busy and gaining a bit of experience but on the plus side if i could sell some bits to even cover my costs that would be great  Has anyone here ever made their own? Any problems that I might not be thinking of or any advice? I'll try post some pics I found online to give an idea of the sort of things I mean

Reply:best advice stay away from copywrited stuff.Also look for sites like planetchristmas.com and other forums in your area I have had people from england that want me to build stuff butt shipping is to high.to even deal with it.You will also have to powdercoat them.As for building them it is not hard start easy with snow flakes and stars and work your way up to the harder stuff.Buis is good just filled a order for 50 frames for a town.so with burning up 4000 fet of 1/4 rod 14pounds of welding wire and 32 pounds of powder coat powder I am taking a breakGregg

Reply:how would I know what is copyrighted? yeah we have ordered in some things from America but generally it costs a lot to ship so we only buy the things that are hard to find here...mainly blow-moulds. Great to hear you are kept busy with it  I think I will try some basics first like you said, stars, snowflakes, small lanterns, and after that I will take ideas from some things we already have and change it a little bit so it's not identical  here is a photo of our house at christmas, there are a few things we already own that I can use for ideas  Attached Images
