a friend of mine wanted to fix his little problem he had with his 39 chevy .it has a mustang II k member that was installed by previous owner .the problem was the stabilizer bars that run from bottom a arm to the frame had done ripped itself almost off on both sides of the car.the previous owner had boxed in the frame of the 39 chevy with 18 ga. sheetmetal .the 39 frame was made from the factory with u shaped channel facing downwards. the previous done gone and riveted and somewhat plugged weld 18 ga sheetmetal strips to the bootm of the u shaped channel it was a poor choice of metal to use not thick enough plus the way he installed it half ***. so remove both stabilizer bars and homemade brackets that where installed by previous owner and the welds on the brackets looked bunch of bird droppongs .man it was a mess.i got them and started to cut outthe 18 ga sheetmetal that ripped away form the frame by cuuting out with pneumatic cut off die grinder. then cleaned up the bottom of frame and fab up patch panel to go in its place.the patch panel I use was 10 ga sheetmeatl a lot thicker and stronger than 18 ga. I seen that he patch would fit so drill so holes for plug welds and then clamped down and plugged away then welded the butt ends of the patch.then got the brackets cleaned up with combo of girnding plasma cutting and portaband and they where worked to point to be welded back in place.so I started fitting then back ion the frame by using somewhat measurements I took off the way where welded to the frame earlier .it was a pain but got passagener side fitting good amd welded it up.the driver side was different story I messed with it for awhile until I got somewhat good fit ad welded it up.my buddy was happy that he could drive it and the front was tight and didn't move the whole wheels and suspension assembly around like it did before with the stabilizer bars were ripped off the front.but I still wasn't happy so I told him come over next weekend and I will fab new brackets and take oof those previous one clean up the patch panel and weld in new fab brackets so can get dead nuts perfect then I will be happy with him.i things you do for your friends.all yeah I will be posting pics of the build when do it this weekend.this my first post on there so I see how it goes. Reply:I think those are all 'pre' photos, but someone needs to use punctuation and paragraphs.

Reply:I would agree I have a headache and could not finish reading the single sentence paragraph.  (may not be spelling correctly)I would also agree the welds you did look cold.  Also look like a 110 mig.  Granted if it's thin enough then it's fine, but frame work is generally reserved for something a bit heavier.
