I know this is probably a ridiculous question but I have a heck of a time getting any sparks out of my single flint striker after only a few uses. My Dad has a 3 way one that doesn't seem a lot better to me. Maybe the cheesy brands are worse? Has anyone else noticed this or am I just dysfunctional?I was thinking about giving this a shot. Any thoughts in general? Thanks.
Reply:Buy a Surelite striker, either single or triple flint they both work well.Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."
Reply:Bic lighter is what i use.
Reply:Hmm, you must have the "weaker" flints. Ask for "heavy duty" flints at your LWS, next time you're there. Lincoln Power Mig 216Lincoln AC/DC-225/125Miller 625 X-Treme PlasmaMiller 211 Forney 95FI-A 301HF 91110Victor Journeyman O/PMilwaukee DaytonMakita Baileigh NRA Life Member

Reply:I got an old radnor pos that came in my welding kit from school. Its lasted two years and still has another flint left. Sometimes it gets bent outta shape and don't wanna strike but its an easy fix.
