Got this tungsten sharpener idea from another thread.  Pick up the 3 inch tabletop grinder and get some cutoff wheels.  Swap the polishing wheel for a scrap nut and the cutoff wheel.  Much nicer than getting up and cheaper than a hand held. Attached Images
Reply:I am not anti China but for whatever reason I am sort of sick of seeing it on everything and that picture was no help.

I was watching a show about a family living in the bush in Alaska. The dad said we figured out a long time ago that we don't need the outside world. What a clueless comment. Where did you get the boat your going around in? The car? Your clothes etc etc.Last edited by mikecwik; 12-14-2014 at 08:42 PM.

Reply:its just a prototype for now but better then grooving my grinding wheels. I don't use it much as I thought I would, tungsten seems to last me a long time. I have yet to try it with a cordless but it should work the same?  Some dremels have different threads for attaching accessories.
Reply:I just use the Orange grinding wheel right on the damn thing. It's a fine grit so it won't grind as quick as a 6" or 8" grinder, but turn that sucker to 10,000 RPMs and it will still get the job done.  To cut them, just grab the 3" air cut off tool with the 0.040" cut off wheel. Works just fine. 1st on WeldingWeb to have a scrolling sig! HTP Invertig 400HTP Invertig 221HTP ProPulse 300HTP ProPulse 200 x2HTP ProPulse 220MTSHTP Inverarc 200TLP HTP Microcut 875SC

Reply:I just use a chisel. but its still risky since you sometime split the tungsten.
Reply:I mounted one of their 4" diamond blades for their circular saw sharpener onto that 3"grinder for sharpening my tungsten.   If I find a belt sander cheap, I'll probably switch over to that addy some point in the future.Tiger Sales:  AHP Distributor    www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P,  Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma.  For Sale:  Cobra Mig 250 w/ Push-pull gun.  Lincoln Wirematic 250

Reply:Sorry, thinking of 4" HF grinders which last freaking forever for 23 bucks
Reply:Originally Posted by dbstooIt takes me just a few seconds per tip to grind it.   If I'm doing a batch of them I will use one of the collets as a holder and just twirl it between thumb and forefinger.  With the grinding wheel running fast, I don't worry about how fast I spin the electrode.  Dan
