Flux core wire

I was curious what  a good general purpose, all positions flux core wire ( gas less ) was?  I thought I read somewhere 1 alloy works better for vertical and overhead and another for flat. I've ran a lot of .035 er70s-6 but never any flux core. I usually weld mild steel 1/8" to 3/8" and occasionally up to 1". I was curious about the flux core and wanted to give it a try. Reply:I don't do much flux core, but Lincoln NR-211-NP was recommended by Dan, IIRC, a long time member here and at Weld Talk.  I run .035 in my HH140 and HH187.  You should be able to get the 8" spools at Home Depot or Lowe's.http://www.lincolnelectric.com/en-us...olnElectric%29

Reply:With the limited knowledge I have of it, you will either want an E71T-11 or E71T-GS. Hobart's version of the E71T-11 is the Fabshield 21B, and the GS is Fabshield 23. You can get good info from the Hobart Brothers site.I think, the GS wire is more limited to thickness of material and to single pass. My limited usage of FCAW-S is with the 21B.
