Good morning all, I think that this is my first project post so far. I just purchased a new to me (used ) Solar 2175 MIG welder and I have been learning how to use and adjust the settings. So I thought what the heck I would build a frame for my heater that I use in the garage in the winter months. I know the welds are not pretty but I am getting there. The frame is 1" angle and the handle is 3/4" EMT pipe. Total cost $00.00, this was made from pieces that I have left over from another project.I also need to work on the camera as well as the welding. Reply:Looks good! I had one of those Solar 2175 welders. Loved it! Was actually my first MIG. I stupidly sold it and have been wanting to get another MIG. If you ever want to depart with yours, let me know... Does yours have the spot/stitch controls?Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2
Reply:Thanks for the comments. I do love the 2175 welder and I am not planning on getting rid of it any time soon. This was my neighbors welder and we were very good friends and he passed just a few months a go so I will be keeping this one for a very long time.Lincoln AC225 Stick WelderSolar 2175 MIG Welder
Reply:Just my 2 cents, but that handle is going to get very hot unless you turn the blower toward the wheels. I learned the hard way. I also done the drop in style like you did works well. Wheels sure do beat picking it up and lugging it around. Reply:I thought about the handle getting hot. It will be used most of the time when the unit is cool and to keep me from getting to close to light me up. I picked it up twice full of fuel and told my self that is enough of that, so I had the 1" angle in the garage and that was the perfect use for it.
