is the diesel worth over $3000.00 more
Reply:I always wondered that to. I guess you would have to look at the life expectancy of the diesel compared to the gasoline. And factor in the additional fuel expense with diesel.Good judgement comes from experience.Experience comes from bad judgement.
Reply:With a small 3600rpm diesel, I'd say no. You will be paying nearly double for the unit and it probably won't last double the hours.QamuIs Heg qaq law' lorvIs yInqaq puS

Reply:the trailblazer 302 gas is $3928.00 and the diesel is $7674.00
Reply:the diesel is "said to" get 2x the life out of it compaired to a gas welder. Now the diesel cost almost twice as much. Plus diesel fuel cost about 1/3 more that gas ($2 per gal vs $3+ for diesel). now factor in hard starts in cold weather for diesel. and after warranty, if the diesel has problems, it costs lots more to work on a diesel than a gas motor. plus more than likely you will not get 2x the life, it will be more like 1.5x the life.So a small diesel welder is NOT worth the extra cost. get a gas welder, and when it dies, throw it away and buy another one.
Reply:I have had 4 gas Trailblazers over the years, NONE of them did I ever get close to wearing an engine out. In every case, I got tired of fixing the welder end, or the electronics, engines were still in great shape. No special oil or shortened maintenance intervals on the engines, either, they were abused. Still outlived the welder part. So unless you have a reason for needing to use diesel (availability where you are?), I would stick to the gas.
Reply:They're worth it on a job site that doesn't allow gas engines. As far as saving anything you have to step up to a 1800 rpm machine.Tough as nails and damn near as smart
