Well I got my first real tig yesterday. I had a Harbor Freight unit for awhile to try out tiggin. So now I hope to get some seat time over the next few weeks. My main projects for this unit will be sheet metal as I hope to be building custom motorcycle tanks and other parts. Here are a couple pic's of it in it's new home. I will be sure to post up some practice beads.Miller DVI2Lincoln Precision Tig 225Thermodynamics Cutmaster 38Everything else needed.

Reply:Neat Nice shop.
Reply:Sounds good. I built some custom motorcycle tanks years ago. Used an acetylene torch as I wasn't going to build a bunch. It worked fine but they warped to beat hell. Took quite a bit of bondo to smooth out. The tig should work a lot better. Lets see some pictures.

Reply:Thanks everyone for the nice comments.Didn't have a lot of time with all this damn :snow: falling. I ran a few short beads. I did a few on 1/8 plate were I ran two beads on top then three beads of a butt joint. I also ran a few on some 1/4 bar playing with different amp setting. Just getting a few for the pedal. I did a butt joint on 20 sheet metal and I was very happy with the results. The back side look just like the top of the bead. Now I know why bike tank builder only use tig. I must say I am very happy with the new tig. More will follow.Miller DVI2Lincoln Precision Tig 225Thermodynamics Cutmaster 38Everything else needed.

Reply:you soon will be wanting a water cooler. I removed the drawer under the tig machine and raised the machine about 8 inches or so and my bernard cooler fits under the welder now.But anyway, you bought a nice machine, I think you will really like it.
