Well now since I have started to post a few pictures on here I figured it would be cool to see peoples shops (home and work). These are a few that I took from work.  Matthew

Reply:Hi Everyone,                  Just a couple of pic's of bench area in my home garage, As you can see not a lot of wall space left, I try to keep the floor area clear for projects and a home for my Land Cruiser and Cobra replica. Since retiring this place is my second home. Will take more photo's later, Attached Images
Reply:Gordon,No tool boxes in N. Yorkshire mate? Cheers.Hardric
Reply:Hi Hardric,               Sounds like you know the area,Yorkshire men have never been known for spending money they didn't need to, I do have a tool boxes but usually only use them for outside jobs, Much prefer to have my gear out ready for use. Remembering to put it back in the same spot is a challenge once the little grey cells don't work so well. Cheers matey,                      Gordon.

Reply:Farmersamm. Can't believe it, Farmersamm lost for words. My home garage is only 22'x20' so every bit of wall space is fair game. Any bigger projects done at my sons place, He's in the crop spraying game, Runs Unimog sprayers and some of the older Mercedes MB trac tractorsBeing a retired man you are right about the days above ground bit.Cheers, my friend,(if I may call you that)GordonLast edited by gordon stephenson; 11-28-2008 at 06:47 AM.
Reply:Gordon, all your tools are easily accessible and that's great if you're workshop based. I like the large tool cabinets that are so popular in the US but firstly you need space for them and  a smooth floor to roll on. Plus they're a dickens of a price down here. I hope to set up a largish shadow board in the not too distant future.I was surprised to see you have boxes of the dreaded UNF bolts. Still use a few of them here and of course UNC is still available too. Mainly metric now, though. I have an aplication that uses a 3/4" BSF Nyloc type nut, not often but they're not getting any easier to find though. It's in a Hamilton jet unit in a boat, so corrosion gets them in the end. Days will be getting short and cool there now?Might be interesting to see some Unimog shots, sometime, too. Incredible machines for go anywhere jobs. Do they still make the MB tracs? I've only ever seen a picture of a couple of them on the 'net."One of the things we have to be thankful for is that we don't get as much government as we pay for." Reply:Hello Tractapac,                       With not too much room I'v had to train myself to put gear away after use, So I do more or less remember where everything lives. The wooden boxes are not bolts but taps and dies,When serving my time at the steel works everything was whitworth threads, Then all I.C. I. bolting was all UNC or UNF,and now metric,so I'v seen a few changes over the years, Have to sort out some Unimog Pic's.We did a complete rebuild on one of them a couple of years ago. Somebody ran into the side of my son while travelling between jobs, he instinctivley swerved to the left and the nearside wheels went on to the soft verge and with all the weight, sprayer boom and tankup top over it went, wrecked everything, Mast, boom, cab, And he was tanked for spraying 70% sulphuric acid.Lucky to get out unhurt. Insurance paid up but we had a massive rebuild job, Don't think MB tracs are still built, but they are a fantastic machine. They had several engine sizes, We have the largest model.Cheers  Gordon.Last edited by gordon stephenson; 11-28-2008 at 05:45 PM.
